Ashtanga Foundations is a progressive heat building practice that focuses on strength, concentration and flexibility. The Ashtanga system of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with purposeful movement in order to purify and strengthen the body and mind.
This class may include a short “Mysore moment” where we practice in the traditional Ashtanga self-led style, giving you the opportunity to work on specific postures at your own pace with one-on-one help from the instructor. The room’s heat is reduced compared with a Moksha class, but we still sweat so be sure to bring water and a towel. A variety of music may be played.
