Practising Ashtanga Yoga on ‘moon days’ is avoided based on the lunar energy of prana (upwards) and apana (downwards). Our bodies mainly consist of water and and like the ocean’s tides, we are affect by the moon which can make us more vulnerable to injury on these days.
The Lunar Flow practice will replace Ashtanga Foundations on ‘moon days’ helping us more attuned to natural cycles. Being aware of and observing moon days is one way to recognize and honour the rhythms of nature so that can live in greater harmony with it. During this class we will move through different variations of moon salutations, pranayama and mediation. This class is practiced in a reduced heat.
