From a young age, Marsha had a passion for health and fitness. Intrigued by the inner workings of the human body, books on the musculoskeletal system always topped her Christmas wish list. Dance, competitive cheerleading and running filled her free time and drove home the importance of self care through a regular yoga practice and massage therapy for injury prevention. While completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph, Marsha obtained her certification as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and spinning instructor. In 2010 Marsha traveled to India to pursue the study of yoga and has been instructing classes at Moksha ever since. Yoga therapy has a profound effect on restoring balance in the body and eliminating pain due various reasons such as over worked muscles in athletes, the sedentary lifestyle of office workers and pathologies like scoliosis. This extensive history in the fitness industry, aided Marsha’s studies to become a registered massage therapist at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. The intensive program focused on anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology and kinesiology. You can join Marsha for a sweaty class in the hot room or a massage therapy appointment here at Moksha Waterloo.
